I am getting to these Wednesday evening. My lips are chapped, and my legs are tired. But the amazing glide of Trent Reznor is filling my head, and I am glad I saw this band as many times as I have.
- Have you decided who you’re going to vote for, for Mayor, for City Council, for County Board? Does the recent story about the email from Mr. Kluz as reported in the Wausau Daily Herald affect your choice?
- Have you been in the new Dudley Tower yet? I was talking to Al Post at his book shop, and I told him that in unfamiliar cities, I am often most intimidated by local book stores. I wonder if that does not apply to skyscrapers? Is the Dudley a skyscraper?
- Do you order pie or ice cream or other dessert after a meal? Is that almost an extinct custom? I know that a few folks here are chefs, so your thought on the final course, the sweet farewell, the intoxicating pastry would be appreciated.
- Where do you buy shoes? I am asking because of the tremendous shoe resource we have, a worldwide leader in sneakers and other athletic products right here. Do we support that business, as it has supported so many families?
- What was the last book you read? Would you be interested in contributing to a books, music, movie, review site as a blog within the CW Community section?
- What is your first morning beverage?
I was thinking of the extra questions, but really, it is Easter weekend. And I am off to see Freedown in Woodruff, opening for the mighty Scott Holt band. I hope you’re all well. Eat a chocolate egg.

1. Oh yes, I have decided whom I will be casting my vote for in the upcoming mayoral election and Mr.Kluz’s comments have absolutely no bearing on the choice I will make. Won’t tell you who though.
2. I have not been inside the Dudley Building as of yet. Skyscraper… no I really don’t consider it tall enough for that.
3. Not always, but if I do I try to find the lightest desert the restaurant offers especially if I had eaten a heavy entree … if they offer sorbet or sherbet, that’d be the ticket. Something to cleanse the palate. It depends on which kind of wine I have been drinking also. White wine – possible desert…Red wine – doubtful.
4. Sneakers, Foot Locker. Dress shoes, The Cobblery
5. 20th Edition of Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader. Possibly.
6. Mountain Dew.
Happy Easter to all of you also.

1. Yes, I’ve decided all of my votes. The Herald article doesn’t affect my choice. Although I’m still enjoying the eclectic fodder on all candidates, it’s not like I just started thinking about this yesterday.
2. I’ve been in the Dudley Tower several times and on different floors, for various reasons. Typically a social gathering involving lots of people, food and beverages. I don’t think it’s a skyscraper…more of a mini space needle. I love the Dudley Tower…if one can love a building.
3. I usually like to eat sweets for breakfast, rather than after an evening meal. I have embibed in a Créme Brulee or two since the Wright Place opened, however.
4. Eastbay. I support it. I really like the Teva’s I bought last year. They rock!
5. Five Little Monkeys…. not really.
6. Coffee.

2. Dudley Tower is a skyscraper, of course it is. It’s the tallest building around, isn’t it? And it is shaped like a skyscraper.
4. The internet.
5. On the plane I started reading a book called Lush Life by Richard Price that is just super duper. Police, crime, intrigue, and none of it is the least bit cheap or contrived or novelistic. And, yes.
6. Coffee. One of the highlights of my day, every day.

1. I was already decided, but it’s an entertaining dog and pony show over that e-mail.
2. I haven’t been in it yet, I wasn’t aware it was even open. I thought there’d be a lot of public hoopla over the whole thing when it did.
3. It is a dying tradition, that’s for sure. I don’t do it myself, mostly because while I do love a good bit of chocolate goodness, I’m more a fan that of that extra three bucks in my pocket for something else <.<
4. I used to have a friend that worked at Eastbay and would hook me up. Sadly, he’s moved on and I am in need of some new work shoes. I’d be interested to hear where everyone else buys as well.
5. Clown Girl by Monica Drake. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that Chuck Palahniuk’s endorsement of the book didn’t lead me to pick it up. But it’s an amazingly read, rarely do you hear that type of voice in modern literature, especially from a woman.
6. Rockstar or Monster. I am not a coffee fan, so energy drinks of have been an amazing discovery. Sugar free of course, I want all the RRRR! without ugh…

1) Not able to vote in Wisconsin.
2) The Dudley Brothers “tower” is an attractive building. Clearly it should be the focal point of the fair city of Wausau. It is not at all intimidating. I am quite often surrounded by the many buildings in Dallas that are in excess of 600,700, and 800 feet tall. The Dudley tower is cute by comparison.
3) Not usually–unless it has been paraded before me and there is something that looks exotic or dangerous. Dining experiences that “leave room” for a sweet finish and are designed by the chef to feature a dessert are great.
4) Last pair-o sneaks was from the Nike store down the road. Dress and casual shoes from Nordstram. Boots from Pinks Western wear or Tactor Supply.
Eastbay is a great resource for Wausau.
5) The Match, by Mark Frost. I would recommend books and movies that I am famialr with in such a forum.
6) Coffee.

1. Yes.
2. I’ve been in the building a number of times and it is impressive. It’s the closest thing we have to a skyscraper in Wausau and it created a long-runnig discussion thread on the website skyscrapercity.com.
3. I rarely order dessert, but creme brulee is an easy sale to me (as it apparently is for dwestcott.)
4. HT Cobblery downtown is my most regular shoe store.
5. Conservatives Without Conscience by John W. Dean.
6. Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

Morning, folks! Oh, Dino, you make Monday so much better by allowing me to step away from my work duties for a few moments to answer some goofy questions. I just love it!!!
1. Not informed enough to vote.
2. Have not been in Dudley Tower. It’s no IDS or Sears Tower or the like, but for Wausau it’s skyscraper status.
3. Dessert? Yes! Coffee and a cigarette – the dessert of champions!!!
4. I’m not a weird shoe-crazy girl like so many others. I enjoy my tennis shoes and usually Fleet Farm for Harley Davidson shoes/boots. Old Navy for flip-flops. I have really attractive feet and try not to cover them up as much as possible!! Spring is coming…..woo-hoo!!!
5. I read Dean Koontz and have for years, but I have a little baby, so I haven’t been able to devote the time to Koontz. I did just read Piggley’s Treasure Hunt to my little guy yesterday.
6. Usually coffee. That is, unless the cheapskates I work with decided to consume all my coffee creamer and not replace it, then it’s Diet Mt. Dew.

What an amazing feeling to rock out to a great band!
1. I am also not informed enough to know who I would vote for. What I don’t like is that is all the negative garbage out there about the candidates. Most of the pessimists who post the advertisements don’t have the audacity to list their names.
2. I have not been in the Dudley building, but I would like to. I am glad Wausau is building and updating downtown.
3. Personally, I do not like to choose between pie and ice cream, so I choose to put them together. A favorite combination of mine is warm raspberry pie with vanilla ice cream.
4. I like to buy shoes from Macy’s Department store. Since we do not have a Macy’s in Wausau, I usually prefer shopping at Famous Footwear in the mall.
5. Currently, I am reading The Guardian, by Nicholas Sparks.
6. My first morning beverage is a tall glass of 100% Orange Juice.

2. I have not been in the the Dudley tower. I find it very aesthetically pleasing and not intimidating. The 1,149 feet tall Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas meets my definition of intimidating. The building itself does not necessarily intimidate, but reach the top of the building and strap yourself into one of the 16 seats of the “Big Shot”, a skyward projectile needle that tops the radio-tower-like pod. Next thing you know, you’re blasted 160 feet straight up in the air at 45 mph, then allowed to partially free-fall back down. At the apex of the ascent, it feels as if your seatbelt and restraint have mysteriously evaporated, leaving you momentarily hovering 100+ stories in the air. The ride lasts about a half minute, but unless you’re wearing plastic underwear, that’s more than enough.
3. Don’t usually order dessert, except occasionally, as deepintheheart describes, when they teasingly wheel the cart of goods right under my nose. Dark chocolate anything will catch my eye. Also a fan of bumbleberry.
5. Would love to hear book, poetry, music, movie recommendations.
6. Morning beverage: teeccino (caffeine-free herbal coffee) or tea (hawthorne berry sage, vanilla nut, licorice, chai, or green with acai berry).

1. I’m pretty decided although not excited.
2 I have no real reason to go inside the Dudley Tower. In my opinion it’s an eyesore, a towering metal mass that I have no desire to visit.
3. Not usually.
4. I haven’t bought new shoes in a while. next pair I’ll probably order online.
5. I’m re-reading “Watchmen” which is my favorite graphic novel of all time.
6. What is your first morning beverage?
Orange Juice or Apple Juice usually. If it’s a morning I work then I have a quad espresso and a glass of water.
