The Altenburgh Christmas Shows

by Dino Corvino on December 4th, 2007 • One Comment »

My lack of enthusiasm for the Christmas music is pretty well documented. I am fan of this night though, not for the music really, but because some of the cats on stage are people I call friend, and watching them play together makes me laugh with a joy of watching someone you care for, do something they love.

Plus, watching Greiner scowl, that’s fun.

So, living in Wausau…or near Wausau…one is confronted with some questions. Not bad questions, but at the end of the day, you are left wondering some things. Or rather I am. Just a guy, wondering some things. I am posing these as more of discussion starters. Not really any sort of aggressive real intense focus, so lets not read too much into them.

Robbery + Bike = Sadness

by Abe Gabor on October 7th, 2007 • 7 Comments »

The pharmacy robbery on Friday was cause for some alarm, especially considering that the guy ended up in our neighborhood – in that situation is it more nerve-wracking to be home or away from your home? But the “crime wave” didn’t stop there. I stopped at the Grand Theater on Friday night to visit with some coworkers and see a bit of the show. The night quickly went downhill when I was getting ready to leave only to find that my bike, which I had parked inside, was now nowhere to be found. At first I thought somebody was playing a joke on me, but as it turns out, over $150 was stolen from the dressing rooms that night during the performance, and my bike was apparently a bonus.
