The question idea is a good one for filling in when needed. I thought more about this today and I think that might it be better to ask one big and possibly controversial question to get the conversation going? The questions could be obscure local history stuff, International politics, whatever. For instance, you could ask "Why is it that Catholic priests have a reputation for unsavoury tendencies whereas lutherans do not?" We will then get to know each other with thoughts and ideas, not shopping lists. That way the reader wouldn't just be scrolling through a mass of random seeming answers to add their own, they would have to read others thoughts to join in. Whenever one comments somewhere, you'll go back to see if anybody answered. Comments are all about conversation.
