My Journey Back to Health

Hoping that all the years of fun might be reversible

First Class

by Dino Corvino on November 30th, 2007

Today we had my first class, and weigh in. That was pretty impressive. Honestly I do not know if I lost any weight, as Kelly did not have my starting weight hand. It was like 645 am, so you cant fault her. I felt good with the number, and I feel good making mindful choices.

I think I need to exercise more. I really like it, but for what ever reason it just is hard. I want it to be the morning, but sleeping with the almight Hershbo, makes that hard. Such a good blanket that dog makes.

So, I have a tea thing. I made an hour of black tea, put it in a container, and in the fridge. I came to the bottom of the gallon, and it felt sort of buttery. Like there was some sort of oil or something that was sticking on my lips and tongue.

I have not had a caffiene craving in the longest time. Soda is not even something I think about. I think that, more than anything is the important thing.

My class is 2 other people. A lady who is older than me, and a guy who seems younger than me. But I cant tell. It was nice. It was nice to be around people who are open to the process, and while we have our differances, they seemed really cool about it all.

I think the best part of this whole thing is this…I feel better.

    Dino,

What are these classes? Do you want to tell us about the content at all?

About this tea thing….I’m not sure what you mean by making an hour of black tea. How long was the tea in the fridge? I don’t know if I have a solution here.

About exercise, I have many questions. Figuring out an exercise routine is a little like trying on clothes. You have to find what fits or works out for you.

Do you have a certain number of days you are trying to exercise? Can you start with weekends and tell yourself you will get some sort of morning workout done? That might make it easier to then tell yourself that you will do two or three more days during the work week.

Is it possible to schedule a long lunch hour and go for a walk? I seem to remember offers from Tom and Andy. Maybe Wednesday could become a standing “appointment” for a lunch walk with one of them.

What type of exercise are you looking for? Cardio? Weights? Toning? What kind of cardio? Would you do better with a training partner or do you prefer to be by yourself? Do you want to develop some routines that can be accomplished right at home? Depending on what you want to do, it isn’t even really necessary to belong to a gym.

So many questions! Sorry if I seem to be blathering.

Like you said in your final sentence, the best part of the whole thing is that you feel better. That is wonderful.
