My Journey Back to Health

Hoping that all the years of fun might be reversible

The Wrap Up

So, the Holiday season is in its death rattle, so I feel pretty good about wrapping it up. I am not a party guy, in fact I do not go to parties that I am a part of organizing. I think this is a direct result of my weight issues, so it goes that I am not all that excited about the whole process of making small talk, while in my head I am sure they are whispering about my weight. It is also the joy of being self absorbed. So, I do not have to worry about that issue.

So, my family has had the same tradition for the longest time…shrimp cocktail. We get together, and eat shrimp on Christmas Eve, and open gifts. So that is what we do, and it is a sauce free food. The family likes it, so it is fast.

This year was also the first year my mom did not make cookies. In accepting that my effort is serious, she supported me by not putting that temptation in front of me. In general I only eat one kind of Holiday Cookie, so that was not that big of a deal.

So basically this year was not bad. I fell off a little bit having a soda on the 21st during a long day in the rental car for work, and combine that with my WXPR radio show, and I needed something. It was like a 22 hour day, all of it required a ton of energy.

I walked with my training partner each and everyday, even went to the Weston Dog park on the evening of the snow storm. I liked the walking in the REALLY deep soft snow. El Hershbo is having some hairball issue type of thing. So I am hesitant to really do a lot of walking with her. I also think El Hershbo has sad eyes.

I think my Dietician is awesome.
