Friggin Web 2.0 People and their cool ideas (Which they stole from Harvey Keitel)
So this is a photo of me this past summer. I don’t post it for anything other than some context. Its not to show my sweating, or unhappiness, or anything. I just want to have some sort of baseline. I was looking at Tara Hunt’s flickr stuff, and she has a 356(me) set, where she takes her photo each day, for 365 days. I think that is pretty interesting. So I was thinking of trying that. I wanted to see if I could come up with a good change. I don’t know if I can, but I think the fact that a pretty girl whos writing I really like does it, well that makes it all the more appealing for me. Far be it from me, to try anything original.
I weighed in on monday, and the thing is this…I lost more weight, but I hate it. The number is small, and I just sort of feel crappy about it. I don’t geet to the gym, and even though the walks with El Hershbo are great, I just feel boxed in. I don’t know how to explain it. I just feel stressed, and as a result am not getting to where I need be. I am not exercising as intensely as I could be, and I have this crappy sleep cycle that I am fighting. I am just dying at work.
Crap.
Heres what I want…I want to get up in the morning and go to the Y. At the Y I want to walk on the treadmill, lift some weights, and do some core strengthening stuff.
Heres what I cant do…get out of bed when its cold and I have a warm dog with me. She is an electric blanket, and I set the alarm to go off, it goes off, I get up, and seriously decide to go back to bed. Thats never good. I do not know how to do it. I find myself awake at 1 am, which would make 5 am or 6 am unrealistic.
Heres what I want…I want to fall asleep around 11 pm. I just can’t do it. Nothing in me lets that happen.

You know, trying to work out in winter sucks. I can’t stand cold weather. But trust me, when spring rolls around, we are going to kick some serious two-wheeled ass. And maybe tennis.

Cool Foster-Grants, dude! I’ve been Y’ing at lunch time, but I’ve done a bunch of 5 a.m. Y’ing in the past and once you’re in that groove, you can stick with it okay; it becomes “normal”. I will gladly kick the lunch workouts in favor of mornings if I know you won’t punk out and leave me hanging there alone with all those weird morning people. Make it like Monday, Wed., Fri. and then do one afternoon thing on the weekend. That’s the ticket. So is kicking your own butt like the coaches used to when you played h.s. football or whatever. Walking is good, but beating the living crap out of yourself is better. One of the best things, besides swimming (which I’m like a buoyant rock at), is punching a heavy bag, but they don’t have one at the Y. If you buy one and hang it at home, you can do some serious damage, pounding away at the pounds … and relieve stress like a big dog.

I swim regularly. Oddly enough, it is the thing I am best at. Even coached swimming in college, and post college.
Swimming and ping pong.
