Many on the right have very weird and often twisted views on race (and US history). It became very obvious in the last election cycle and more obvious racist sentiments said during this last Supreme Court nomination process. Racism is very much alive in this country.

As a person who went down to N.O. right after the floods, I can testify to the reports mentioned here. Not only did I see spay paint signs in the very White neighborhood of Alger’s stating things like “We Shoot Looters”, but I interviewed members of the community who suffered from the White Vigilantes.

The first, never the second…
I applauded the tough decision of the American Legion and pulling out of the 4th of July “Tea Party Event” at the 400 Block.
All one has to do is walk through the crowds and listen to Tea Party Events to quickly see that the Tea Party ranges from John McCain supporters to down-right racists fear-mongers.
It takes a wise organization to see that if they want to attract younger people in this day and age, just simply waving ol’ Glory around while promoting often a lot of hate will not garner new young members to their organization. Again, look around the Tea Parties.
I applauded the tough decision they must have had in balancing patriotism vs fringe – hate laden politics.

At a racist English Only conference where PAT BUCHANAN said about Judge Sotomayor: “…she gets a scholarship to Princeton, she’s graduated with all these big honors and awards they said she never won”. Really, never won?
He and his had his fellow White Nationalists talk about forcing English Only as a nice wedge issue to use against Hispanics and the Democrats.
Now I’m not the greatest speller in the world, but perhaps they might want to look a little closer to the banner they are speaking under.
Pretty much sums up conservatives.

Operations Manager for Midwest Communications and rightwing co-spokes person for AM 55, WSAU have once again show his true colors with his out-right ignorant and simple understanding of the Koran, Christianity and both their history; thereby reinforcing some down right racists’ thoughts on “others”.

His willingness to pick a choose Koran verses that fit his racists views and either overlook or worse yet not know his own road map to salvation (the bible verses) is a long line of hypocrisy dealt out by conservative talk show ilk.
Is it not funny how when conservative experts on religion claims the Koran “calls for” this or that terrible thing, then ignores bible passages that call for the same thing – let alone stoning of daughter for adultery like in Leviticus?
Conley blanket statement regarding Muslim women’s clothing is also funny. Look what the bible tells us:
“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God”–Deuteronomy 22:5
“…that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire”–l Timothy 2:9
I hope Conley and/or his children never get tattoos:
“You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh on account of the dead or tattoo any marks upon you. I am the Lord”–Leviticus 19:28
Quoting Conley: “The Muslim faith forbids the charging of interest in financial transactions. The entire banking and financial systems of western society are anti-Islam.”
Hmmm, perhaps the entire banking and financial system of western society is anti-christen then:
Money cannot be lent at interest to your brother, only to foreigners (Deuteronomy 23: 19-20)
I suspect Chris is not pro-women’s issues and pray he has no daughters:
A raped, unengaged virgin must marry her rapist and they can never divorce Deuteronomy 22:28-29
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak”– 1 Corinthians 14:34).
I could go on quoting more bible verse….
Conley goes on to say:
“The Judeo-Christian west accepts individual conscience as the basis of faith, and tolerance for those who dissent.”
Really, tell that to all the Quakers killed by the puritans, or the Native American people for that matter. Or the Protestant and Catholic killing in Ireland or the Spanish Inquisition when the Catholics kicked out the Moors of Spain – also killing the Jews the Moors where more then happy to co-exist with.
In defense of Conley I’m sure as he looks around and sees troubles flaring up in some Muslim nations. A simple understanding of history my lead one to believe that all the troubles must be rooted in that “others” religion. That is an easier way to look at things.
But like not knowing their own bible, they willfully don’t know their own history and our involvement in these “others” nations.
Would Sunnis and Shia be killing themselves in Iraq if not for the US destabilizing them and picking sides in the Iraq invasion? Could Saudi Arabia be dominated by such hard-line religious intolerance Zealots if the US was not backing up their religious dictatorship? Could the second largest Jewish population in the Middle East really live in Iran if that Muslim country was so intolerant?

Unfortunately often Mr. Conley and other conservative radio hosts don’t have the time or ability to study history. However, I’d suggest next time before spewing some right wing racist’s misrepresentations about other people’s religions you first study and understand your own.

These 5 CEO’s make on average 11 million+ each year off the profits made off denying sick people there medical needs.
Ya, lets keep corporate for profit health insurance.
